Satisfied clients re-engaged our company for a substantial renovation to a seldom used third floor bath in their historic, Horace Trumbauer-designed 1800s home. The goals were to remodel in keeping with the unique style of the home, adding in modern conveniences, and knitting the whole style with elements of old and new. The original 1920s marble sink tops were re-energized with retro faucet design and classic white mirrored medicine cabinets. A frameless glass shower fits seamlessly with the refinished southern pine floor.

Out-of-date mid-1980s washroom space was underutilized and disconnected. The client wanted an elegant environment, a destination to be enjoyed. An oasis of relaxation was created, including a faux limestone fireplace, a tamed vastness of accented cabinetry, and a complete sensory shower experience.

The homeowners had just recently finished a new media room renovation, however the lighting and control did not meet their expectations. Smaller lights with special reflective trim were installed to address a serious glare issue with the big screen TV. Accent and task lighting along the bar and shelves, and a single room lighting system, allows for comfortable and remote control of the entire space.

Every family member deserves their special space, especially the very beloved and large English bull dogs, Tesse & Matte. What was needed was a large area for their supplies, particularly a canine-friendly shower. The third bay of an existing garage was transformed into a pet sanctum, complete with food access & storage, and a state-of-the-art doggie shower with special waterproofing membrane, mud bed, slightly sloped full-length tiles, and louvered doors.

The 20-year-old Cape Cod was due for a major overhaul. A radical new floor plan was introduced, offering far more versatile use of space and improved lighting for this wooded home. A new kitchen is relocated into the original dining room, highlighted by a gas fireplace, custom cabinetry, and inlaid antique Chicago brick. New French doors, enlarged windows, random oak boards now flood the rooms with the warmth of early America and the richness of sunshine.

Faced with an obsolete, dilapidated house, and equally disastrous previous contractor issues, the homeowners chose a straightforward plan and a NARI contractor-only policy. They wanted a safe, comfortable home for their parents, as well as maintaining the sentimental value of their lifelong home. Entire HVAC and electrical systems were replaced. The five main rooms were transformed and fortified with spray foam insulation and secure doors. The kitchen and master bath are prime examples of a complete and stunning overhaul.
